About the LWG

The Logan Writers Guild, Inc. was founded in 1994. The catalyst for its foundation was a writing seminar which a prominent writer was taking.

The guild has hosted an annual competition, the Logan City Writer's Competition, since 1995, and the Love and Roses Competition for romantic short stories was begun in 1999 in honour of the memory of romance writer Sylvie O'Day, who was a member of the guild until 1998, when she died of cancer.

Membership to the guild is $20. Benefits of membership are discounts to all workshops, the monthly newsletter and one may borrow books from the extensive library that the guild owns in regard to writing skills and other similar topics. There is also publication in the annual anthology that the guild publishes.
